Pathfinder Studies and Pathways Explained

18 Pathfinder studies for optimized cardiovascular care

PRECAD

This study aims to enhance long-term risk prediction in patients with chronic coronary artery disease (CAD) through cutting-edge plasma proteomics and angiographic imaging.

Study Goals:

  • Primary: Evaluate if plasma proteomics can improve prediction of long-term mortality in CAD patients
  • Secondary: Assess the added value of coronary angiogram imaging in risk prediction

Participants:

1,400 participants (1,200 with CAD, 200 controls), average age 68, 21% female. All participants underwent a coronary angiogram.

Why it matters:

By combining deep phenotyping and omics data, we aim to personalize care and better identify those at highest risk—paving the way for more targeted treatment and improved outcomes.
